The Triage Funnel: Straightforward 3 Step Process to Sell High-Ticket Offers by Diane Shawe

Are you finding it difficult to effectively market high-ticket offers? Are you encountering challenges in generating fresh leads and scheduling strategy sessions for your high-ticket offers?

The success of your business selling high-ticket offers is contingent upon the number of qualified leads and sales calls you have.

I understand the frustration and disappointment that comes with being unable to sell  premium coaching, consulting, and live event offers, but if you read my latest book you will come to understand that there are several other industries that are looking for high ticket closers and appointment setters.

But that’s about to change.

If you’re interested in discovering how to attract a flood of qualified leads and ensure your calendar is filled with well-qualified calls, continue reading.

I have recently written a book that  specialise in guiding youin the world of triage selling high-ticket programs.

There are numerous approaches you can employ to create a sales funnel and sell your high-ticket offers.

However, in this article, we will focus on the Triage Funnel – a straightforward three-step process that delivers an abundance of qualified leads.

In fact, I personally utilised this method recently as well.

Advantages of the Triage Funnel include:

  • Streamlined funnel procedures with minimal moving components
  • No hassle of implementing an ascension model that requires starting with low-ticket offers and then transitioning to high-ticket ones
  • No more struggling to persuade people to make a purchase
  • Expedited phone conversations with interested prospects (within 72 hours)

Now, let’s delve into the three-step process of the Triage Funnel.

STEP 1: The right lead magnet: Crucial initial step

The initial stage of this funnel entails achieving two primary objectives through the utilisation of a lead magnet.

Firstly, it serves the purpose of generating leads. Although the objective itself may seem simple, it should be recognised as highly significant. The lead magnet effectively acquires vital contact information, namely the lead’s name and email address. Subsequently, this enables the provision of value-adding content, should it be deemed necessary.

Secondly, the lead magnet plays a crucial role in prospect qualification. It is imperative to avoid wasting precious time on unsuitable clients. Thus, the lead magnet must be meticulously crafted in a manner that only entices prospective clients who are the right fit. By addressing their specific problems within the lead magnet, they will develop a sense of being truly understood. Consequently, this approach will effectively attract individuals who are most likely to invest in your high-ticket programs.

As so wisely stated by Stephen Covey in his renowned literary work, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, one must first seek understanding and then aim to be understood.

The provided example presents a landing page featuring a lead magnet.

However, it should be noted that a lead magnet should not be confused with an e-book. While an e-book was previously defined as a downloadable PDF during the early 2000s, this is no longer the case.

In the image below, one can observe the presence of a lead magnet titled “Accelerate Sales Volocity by 25%” This showcases what potential clients you could attract  by using  AI bots and  a good landing page!

STEP 2: Take Advantage of offering Triage-Call on Your Thank You Page

Upon embarking on their journey into the realm of digital marketing, many individuals begin by developing their lead magnet and landing page. Upon the opt-in, they are directed to a “Thank You” page, which, as the name suggests, simply expresses gratitude without offering any additional content.

Upon closer examination, this page can be seen as an opportunity to engage the user.

As users opt-in and anxiously await their desired outcome.

Here’s a proposition:

Take advantage of the “Thank You” page by offering users an opportunity to schedule a brief triage call.

The triage call will only last 9 minutes.

The purpose of this call is to determine if you can effectively assist the prospect.

To accomplish this, incorporate relevant and captivating text onto the thank-you page, along with a video.

This video should cover the following points:

  • Firstly, inform users that their lead magnet will be delivered to their email within approximately 15 minutes. This will encourage them to stay on the page and provide them with an opportunity to schedule a Triage Call.
  • Discuss what they can expect from the lead magnet.
  • Address their issues and explain how this lead magnet will resolve them, ultimately leading them to schedule a triage call.

You may be questioning the decision to offer a 9-minute triage call instead of a 45-minute strategy call.

It is uncertain if you have encountered this scenario, but sometimes, a 45-minute strategy call can be wasted on the wrong prospect.

Time equals money, so why waste it on the wrong prospects?

Utilise a triage call to qualify prospects who are genuinely deserving of a 45-minute strategy call with you.

Implementing a triage call can boost your enrollment rate by 83%.

Consider employing interns or contractors to handle these triage calls.

Ensure that they possess the necessary expertise.

They should possess enough knowledge to determine whether you can solve the prospect’s problems or not. When executed correctly, approximately 40% of individuals will schedule a triage call.

If a strategy call were offered instead, only around 8 individuals would be able to be accommodated.

However, with a 9-minute triage call, you can connect with up to 40 prospects in a single day.

That is the true power of a triage call.

It is possible that 60% of individuals may choose to not schedule a triage call, and that is perfectly acceptable.

A prospect who is willing to schedule a triage call demonstrates enough interest to warrant a 45-minute strategy session.

What about the remaining 60%? Well, some individuals simply disregard them.

You can choose to do the same, or alternatively, you can add additional qualifiers to ensure that the prospect is the right fit and highly likely to make a purchase prior to reaching out to them.

Disable their lead generation until they catch up with you.

So if you generate 100 leads, 40 will book a 9-minute triage call; which is equal to 6 hours.

STEP 3: Follow up

Some individuals may choose not to schedule a triage-call, despite its effectiveness in identifying potential prospects. However, their lack of interest should not be immediately dismissed. There could be various reasons behind their hesitation, such as fear of the unknown or more pressing priorities. It is essential to remember that their circumstances are unknown to us.

Nevertheless, these prospects require careful nurturing. They are not easily convinced and will require additional effort on our part. Consistent communication through valuable content over several days or weeks is necessary. By doing this, we establish ourselves as experts, authoritative figures, and problem solvers. It is important however not to move into harassment mode, executives are busy people and are often juggling several balls in the air.

In some of these nurturing emails, it is advisable to include a Call to Action to prompt them to book a triage-call. When composing these emails, it is crucial to focus on addressing the prospect’s pain points and emphasis that help is readily available. We aim to convey that a different life is just one triage-call away.

On a separate note, it’s interesting to note that 73% of B2B marketers and sales leaders consider webinars as the most effective means of generating high-quality leads.

Your Guided Meditation Will Be More Successful if You Can Visualise In British Pounds Here’s Why

Guided meditation and affirmations with visualised images are very popular on Youtube.

Visualising in British Pounds will help Your Manifestation

Visualisation activates the creative powers of the subconscious mind, motivating it to work harder at creating solutions. If done correctly some people have noticed new levels of motivation and find themselves doing things that normally they would avoid, but that will take them closer to success.

Visualisation and affirmations can help you to change your beliefsassumptions, and opinions about the most important person in your life — YOU! They allow you to harness the 18 billion brain cells in your brain and get them all working in a singular and purposeful direction.

Your subconscious will become engaged in a process that transforms you forever. This happens intensionally or unintensionally because the subconcious mind absorbs everything every waking and sleeping moments of your life.

The process is invisible and doesn’t take a long time. this is why it is important to put in the time to visualise and affirm by practicing your techniques, surround yourself with positive people, read uplifting books and listen to audio programs that flood your mind with positive, life-affirming messages.

Negative Thinking is the Enemy

It is no secret that negative thinking is part of almost everyone’s life.

For some reason, it seems it is easier to think negative thoughts, than to think positive thoughts. The mind and emotions are vast, it is true that people are not taught to think expecially at school, so people tend to flip flop between thoughts and emotions.

Unpleasant situations, problems and difficulties arise in everyone’s lives, and these events cause negative thinking.

Often, people are not very much aware of the thoughts they are thinking, and therefore, get easily immersed with negative thoughts and negative moods when listening to the news or to people talking about their problems.  There is also a tendancy to gossip and gossip is almosy always negative.

It would be a good strategy to avoid negative discussion which can contribute to negative thinking though, in many cases, it is easier said than done.

So for instance when you decide to start some guided meditation there is often 3 choices. a) music only b) verbal affirmations c) visual/images (There is an agruement for silent meditation but this is not guided but may be personally accomplished privately or in a group)

a) Music:  Often people will select a piece of music that either calms them, inspire or motivates them. If the music you come across grates on your nerves then it is unlikely that you will consider listening to it.

b) Verbal Affirmations: Words Matter and if the words you are hearing sound unbelievable then your subconcious mind and your inner self talk will start a negative debate about what you are listening too.  So it is important that the verbal affirmation you select empowers your inner self, does not cause resistance or sounds unachievable.

c) Visual Images: Most of you would have heard the term ‘Create a vision board’ the purpose being to solidify the visual image into your subconcious mind everyday reinforcing your desires, dream or wish to come true. There are lots of Guided meditation videos on Youtube and the stats show that a high percentage of guided money meditations are listened to each day around the world.

Do you need help with getting more appointments or leads?

However if you are british or european and your watching a guided money  meditation in dollars there is instantly a conflict because the image does not fit your currency reality.

You will succeed in neutralising your efforts if you think  positively about your goal for a few minutes, and have doubts or think about them negatively the rest of the day. So it is important to match your money mantra meditation with the currency you predominatly use every day, otherwise this is poor investment of your time, and is one of the main reasons why you are not getting results.

Meaningful Guided Meditation

Guided Meditation, Visualisation and Miracle Tones stimulate positivity which  are essential components to focusing your intentions in a quiet moment to bring about change, bring you clients, bring you business, cashflow and business growth.

No matter your business, startup, not for profit, online business or charity, taking time out to clear your mind and focus on what you want to achieve with a clear vision can be very enlightening.

The brain is still a membrain that needs rest, need oxygen and the right minerals to support it.  There is also lots of evidence to support that certain tones when listened to can stimulate deep into the brain. In this Guided Money Meditation, affirmations are powerful wrapped into the solfeggio tones and biennial beats with wads of british pounds tumbling towards you with a little added surprise.

Start your Guided Money Meditation Right Away

You can watch and listen or just listen to this guided meditation anytime. To help you manifest your goals which will translate into money for your business try this guided money meditation in british pounds for 7 days. Please do not use whilst driving.

Coronavirus Lockdown Drives Rise in Online Micro Start-ups Amid Fears For Job Security

It’s hard to be excited when talking about today’s coronavirus pandemic, when millions of people have been infected.

However, various research around the UK like GoDaddy shows the coronavirus pandemic has been a massive boon to entrepreneurship. And this could help our economy both recover and thrive for years to come.

But while jobs have suffered, new micro business startups have skyrocketed.

The government commendably offered a number of startups and etablished busiesses a lifeline at the peak of the crisis, but despite the slowly improving funding picture, we are now starting to see the pent-up effect of the pandemic on UK businesses.

Government support has artificially kept companies afloat and delayed the true impact. but with the second lockdown to non essential businesses we are only now starting to see more severe damage to UK businesses that could puts the survival of an entire bricks and mortar business generation of innovative companies at risk.

Learn how to start a online business properly

Will the Start Up Trends in 2020 continue through 2021?

A survey of 1,000 GoDaddy customers found 15 per cent of new UK entrepreneurs had made the leap due to job loss or furlough

UK workers have been turning to starting their own companies in unprecedented numbers as fears over job security have spurred a new wave of entrepreneurs.

The “State of the Nation” review, compiled by the group GoDaddy, showed there had been a 14 per cent increase in micro-businesses, start-ups with nine or fewer employees. They have experienced a 62 per cent increase in new UK customers and this is only one domain provider.

How many people actually have any desire at all to become the start ups of tomorrow?

There are, on average, 18,100 searches per month in Google UK for “how to start a business” based on data from kwfinder.com

This has surged in recent months with Google Trends predicting that January 2020 will demonstrate the highest number of searches since records began in 2004 for this query in the UK (by quite some way)

So what’s are we witnessing happening?

We are witnessing a few interesting events. “First, we are seeing unemployed workers starting their own businesses. Realising they need to be responsible for their own financial destinies, these micro entrepreneurs are opting out of the traditional workforce to start their own companies. Secondly, we are seeing virtual employees launching their own businesses.”

With 96 per cent of all UK enterprises identified as “micro-businesses” this sector could play a key role supporting an economic recovery.

With regards to the latter trend, Diane says “I think the mindset for many has become ‘if I’m going to ditch the office, why not ditch the boss too?” And many new work-from-home employees have now gained one to three hours per day as their commutes have been eliminated. Some have been using this time to develop their business plans and launch their own online companies.”

The GoDaddy Figures also revealed encouraging levels of confidence and resilience – 85 per cent were confident that their businesses would continue, with third of these expecting their businesses to thrive.

This was supported by 70 per cent who believed their businesses would recover fully within 12 months.

This was despite 38 per cent of the UK’s smallest businesses being forced to close on temporarily, and almost three-quarters having lost revenue (72 per cent), due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Micro-businesses also still planned to keep up business spending, with 29 per cent confirming that they would continue to invest in their ventures and one in 10 planning to invest more in the companies over the next three to five years

“Government initiatives alone are not sufficient to support startups most in need of funding and cashflow in the current economic climate. It’s possibly the growth of micro businesses that will provide the innovation and jobs that will drive the UK’s economic recovery, and they need urgent support.”

How I increased my blog followers by 1000 in 2 months after having a blog for 18 years!

article by Diane Shawe Author

There’s more to adding hair

Running a blog requires planning and it’s hard work, but with hard work comes results. I gained 1k blog followers in 2 months, and today I’m going to share some of the steps I took to achieved this. I truly did not expect to gain 1k followers in 2 months, but this is what happens when we have self doubt and don’t take action.

But I was thinking back to when I started blogging in September 2010 it was easier than because blogging was just getting popular. Even though, I still would have really appreciated a post like this. As some sort of motivation and guidance.

If you are here because you think I’m going to give you some secret code that gives you those followers overnight, you are looking in the wrong place. This happened from hard work and dedication and nothing more. It wont happen overnight and it didn’t for me as you can see, I have been blogging a long time. The tips I share are the things I did to make this happen. It’s up to you to take action and put in the hard work to see the results.

CONSISTENCY IS REALLY IMPORTANT

I talk often about consistency, but that’s because I want to stress how important it is. Having a blogging schedule and sticking to it something that helped me to see my audience grow. I post anywhere from five, six or seven times a week. Thats a lot of content. As I said in the intro, its not easy and it wont ever be easy being consistent.

http://www.needahairmakeoverfranchise.co.uk

I constantly feel like I am writing and scheduling content. I will touch on social media a few points down but you should also be consistent with Social media too. Any platform that you can use to spread awareness for your blog you should use. Utilise it if it’s there.

TRY INTERACTING WITH OTHER BLOGGERS

One of the most important things to do if you are part of the blogging community is interaction. You won’t ever grow if you don’t interact and support others. When I first started in 2010 blogging was just getting popular, so getting followers was easier, but with the growth of social media and ‘snippet’ such as twitter attracting followers have become more competitive, so thing such as ‘Tasty Headers’ to attract that click is all the more important. Its a two way street blog writer want new folowers, interesting topics to re-tweet so they can gain more followers also.

Yes, you will get traffic to your site from people other than bloggers but you need that blogging community behind you in order for your blog to be successful.

HOW DOES SOCIAL MEDIA HELP?

Instagram, Twitter and Facebook are the main places where a lot of my social media traffic comes from. Pinterest and TiKTok is another social media platform that is great to gain traffic to your blog. To reach a professional audience Linkedin is also a very good patform.

follow us on twitter

A shoutout for Youtube, if you can get over 1000 followers, you are given a community page were you can post your blog links.

Linking into the point I made about consistency, its just as important to be consistent on your social media pages too.

UPGRADING MY WORDPRESS PLAN

About a 9 month into rebranding my blog I decided to upgrade my WordPress plan to a premium plan. This was probably one of the best things I could have done, it gave me access to be able to add ads onto my blog and it gave me access to premium themes. The premium plan is worth it for people who have just started but want to take their blog further.

I am still decided whether to upgrade to the WordPress business plan. This will allow me to take my blogging to the next level. With the business plan it allows you to download and use plug ins, such as Yoast SEO. Which is a tool that tells you how you can improve your posts to help with google ranking. Which in turn helps with traffic and followers.

Its something you should consider but make sure you can afford it, especially if you are wanting to take your blogging more serious and grow your following.

RELATABLE CONTENT IS KING

An important thing to remember when wanting to grow your following is posting relatable content. Do your research and see what’s going on in the world and what people are searching for, and then blog about it. A lot of the time I write about what I’m going through. I wont necessarily say on the post that its from personal experience or something I am struggling with at the time, but that’s what I do. There are ideas and inspiration all around us.

THERE IS NO PROBLEM IN BROADENING YOUR BLOG NICHE

g.page/needahairmakeover

Being vulnerable goes a long way with readers. They are able to connect with you on such a deeper level if they know you are being open with them.

I’ve had many conversations with other bloggers about this, but I think it’s so important that as bloggers we are also flexible in what we write about. I think it’s so great having a blog niche, but don’t be scared to step out of it every once and a while. Don’t stress about writing something different, you don’t know how your readers will receive it unless you just do it. You will note from my blog that I cover a wide variety of topics.

These are just a few things I have done to grow my following. Please remember that these things worked for me. I hope they help you too!

Thank you for 1k followers
I want to take some time at the end of this post to thank you for 1 thousand followers. Rock on for the next 1000

Even though we have all had more time on our hands to effectively rest during lockdown, it would appear that more and more people are actually stressed! Why is this? Stressed if we have no time and stressed if we have to much time. If this is the case then perhaps we’re needed to take a closer look at stress, examine what causes it and holds we can manage it daily.

Stress Man. Businessman suffers from a headache

Stess is created by worrying about things in the future or things that have already happened, both of which you cannot change at the very moment you are worrying about it. Before you read any further do this little test. ‘At this very very moment Whist you are reading this is there a problem affecting you reading this article at this moment in time

Everything seems much faster, urgent and possibly unfilling! Everyone snoops around asking or trying to create a new moment resolution that they all know they won’t keep for the whole twelve days let alone a year.

Living too much into the future or reliving the past are both causes of fear and pain. These are often the questions one is faced with:

• How can you stop the pain?
• How can you switch your mind off,
• how can you stop worrying?
• How can you relax?
• How can I be happy?

Managing stress

30 minutes coffee break ebook available on Amazon and Google Books

Well two words’acceptance‘ and ‘surrender‘ is a good place to start. Become fully present so that the past and future can ceases to have any power over you causing stress, worry and unhappiness.

If only out life was like typing when we can simply undo, delete or Hyperlink to a quick useful reference but alas, lots of things are unavoidable in life. Never before has it become more important to find ways to decrease and prevent stressful incidents and decrease negative reactions to stress, especially as they can lead to short or long term illnesses.

Here are some of the things that can be done instantly by just remembering to be conscious of them.

Managing time

Time management skills can allow you more time with your family and friends and possibly increase your performance and productivity. This will help reduce your stress.

To improve your time management:

• Save time by focusing and concentrating, delegating, and scheduling time for yourself.
• Keep a record of how you spend your time, including work, family, and leisure time.
• Prioritise your time by rating tasks by importance and urgency.
• Redirect your time to those activities that are important and meaningful to you.
• Manage your commitments by not over- or undercommitting. Don’t commit to what is not important to you.
• Deal with procrastination by using a day planner, breaking large projects into smaller ones, and setting short-term deadlines.
• Examine your beliefs to reduce conflict between what you believe and what your life is like.
• Build healthy coping strategies

It is important that you identify your coping strategies. One way to do this is by recording the stressful event, your reaction, and how you cope in a stress journal. With this information, you can work to change unhealthy coping strategies into healthy ones-those that help you focus on the positive and what you can change or control in your life.

Plan how you are going to reduce Stress and Conflict

Lifestyle

Some behaviors and lifestyle choices affect your stress level. They may not cause stress directly, but they can interfere with the ways your body seeks relief from stress. Try to:

• Balance personal, work, and family needs and obligations.
• Have a sense of purpose in life.
• Get enough sleep, since your body recovers from the stresses of the day while you are sleeping.
• Eat a balanced diet for a nutritional defense against stress.
• Get moderate exercise throughout the week.
• Limit your consumption of alcohol.
• Don’t smoke.

Social support

Social support is a major factor in how we experience stress. Social support is the positive support you receive from family, friends, and the community. It is the knowledge that you are cared for, loved, esteemed, and valued. More and more research indicates a strong relationship between social support and better mental and physical health.

Changing your thinking can help change everyone’s mood

Changing thinking

When an event triggers negative thoughts, you may experience fear, insecurity, anxiety, depression, rage, guilt, and a sense of worthlessness or powerlessness. These emotions trigger the body’s stress, just as an actual threat does. Dealing with your negative thoughts and how you see things can help reduce stress.

• Thought-catching helps you stop a negative thought to help eliminate stress.
• Disproving irrational thoughts helps you to avoid exaggerating the negative thought, anticipating the worst, and interpreting an event incorrectly.
• Problem solving helps you identify all aspects of a stressful event and find ways to deal with it.
• Changing your communication style helps you communicate in a way that makes your views known without making others feel put down, hostile, or intimidated.

This reduces the stress that comes from poor communication. Use the assertiveness ladder to improve your communication style.

LEARN TO BE AGILE WHEN CHALLENGES, DIFFICULTIES AND FAILURES ARE ON YOUR STEPPING STONES TO SUCCESS BY DIANE SHAWE

Greatness is not achieved by never falling but by rising each time we fall. Confucius

Failure, or failing at something, is a natural part of life. People experience failure both in their personal and professional lives on a daily basis.

The great thing about failure is that it provides you with a another chance. You get the opportunity to pick yourself up once again, come back stronger and have another go!

You can and should learn from your mistakes and your shortcomings, and use them as stepping stones to achieve success and greatness, be it in your personal life or in your professional life!

In other words, failure is a great teacher. One of the best, in fact!

The fact is that everyone fails, or experiences failure in their life. Even wildly successful and famous people – people who have seemingly achieved just about everything in life – have experienced failure and the disappointment that comes with it many times in their life. How they chose to deal with their failures is what made them successful, and got them to where they are today.

Remember, consistency is the evidence of belief. Keep smiling at the person in the mirror.

Like success, failure is many things to many people. With positive mental attitude, failure is a learning experience, a rung on the ladder, and a plateau at which to get your thoughts in order to prepare to try again. ~ W. Clement Stone

You don’t need a reason or permission to be happy just a choice. Dont let your excuses or doubts be greater than your faith in success or your positive vision.

Everything we see around us was once a thought, a dream a vision until it was committed to action.

DEFINE YOUR WORD

Think about the year ahead and ask yourself what one word would best represent your dreams and direction for 2019. This is a powerful practice because no matter how busy or scattered we may get at various points in our 365 day journey, we’ll always have our word to hold onto and guide us through.

Here are some examples of words to consider (you can also think of them as themes for the year):

FOCUS, REST, COURAGE,

ABUNDANCE, MY VALUES,

SIMPLIFY, ELEVATE, ORGANISED,

SPIRITUALITY, LEGACY,

CHARITY, IMPLEMENT. PHEONIX

Take some time and really reflect on which word holds the most meaning to you in the pursuit of your personal goals. Then take a piece of paper, write your word on it and hang it where you can see it every day. You’ll find that more and more, your thoughts, decisions, and actions in the new year will flow in harmony with your word.

CREATE YOUR READING LIST

As entrepreneurs, we know that reading great books for our personal and business development is essential if we really want to take things to a new level each year. However, if you’re like most entrepreneurs, you probably have a mountain of books that you are still intending to read and you know you have to be more selective about exactly which books you’re going to focus on (and implement!) in the year ahead.

So in 2019, instead of getting overwhelmed by it all, get intentional and put together a reading plan.

Here are some questions to help you create your list:

Which particular books will help me the most right now?

What area of my business am I resisting due to lack of knowledge?

Are there any books that I should read again and implement better this time?

3 circle

FOCUS ON ONE THING

With the beginning of a new year, it’s exciting to launch into everything we want to do all at once to improve our lives and our businesses, but that’s a recipe for getting quite overwhelmed and discouraged before too long.

There is so much value in focusing on one thing at a time. It’s better to work on 12 habits or goals one at a time, month by month, and successfully achieve them all in a year, than it is to work on everything all at once and only be able to to finish 2 or 3 due to lack of focus.

MOVE PAST AN OLD FEAR

One of the things we love most about a new year is the feeling of a fresh start that it brings. Use the momentum of starting fresh to face a fear and do something you were afraid to do in 2018.

SET A 90 DAY MONEY GOAL

It’s so important to set your goals around money and map out your plans for how you’re going to achieve them. Money loves clarity and the more clear you are about how much you want your business to grow and how you’re going to make it happen, the more you can expect to see results!

First, identify how much money you want to make in your business over the next 90 days. Working from the framework of a 90 day goal is particularly effective because it’s not too long or too short when it comes to achieving something amazing, so don’t be afraid to dream a little bit out of your comfort zone.

Next, map out what that looks like in terms of clients and sales. How many clients would you need in order to hit that goal? How many sales per month, per week, per day? By honing in on these numbers, you’ll be able to set your daily, weekly, and monthly goals with clarity and ease. Best of all, you’ll be able to focus on taking action and making it happen. 🙂

Article by Diane Shawe Author: Extracts from Getting Started in the Hair Extensions Business

Sometimes you find things are going great and then the big slump takes a hold. How can you evaluate what you have done right and where you are going wrong?

Doing a SWOT analysis will give you a true picture of how your hair extension business could or should be running. It is essential to work out why some things are working in your business and why some are

SWOT stands for ‘strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats’. It is a well-known term in business and marketing. Performing a SWOT analysis is a very important part of running the business. It must be taken seriously

It is your own audit of your business no matter the size of it and should be done on a regular basis, at least annually. It’s not very complicated but could help keep you ahead of your competitors.

You may discover problems that you had no idea even existed. These can be addressed before they get out of hand. It will also highlight many assets, which could be utilised better, even opportunities, which could be taken advantage of.

The results of your SWOT analysis will be the basis for your marketing plans and decisions.

‘What they don’t tell you about getting started in the hair extension business’ summary from page 20 – 35 author Shawe D 2007

1) Form business alliances

Join up with other businesses to help each other build a bigger clientele.

Form an alliance with another business that has the same type of clientele as yours, for instance a business which involves beauty, nails, tanning, or fashion.

You can take this alliance as far as you like. You could set up shop together, or just refer clients to each other. You could do some advertising together and share the cost. Another idea is to hand out gift vouchers for each other. Each gift voucher could be for a free service.

It’s best if you both cater to clients who are at the same end of the market.

There’s not much point in marketing to people who simply can’t afford to come to your hair extension studio or pay for your services.
2. Choosing a Business

Choose a business where the people have the same business ethics as yours and a good database of clients.

3) Network

Throw the occasional cocktail party and invite the surrounding business owners, managers and employees of your choice. If you can build relationships with these people you may gain them as clients. Remember most men have girlfriends or wives and most women have other lady friends also.

They might also refer some of their customers and friends to you. Do this especially with the staff of beauty and fashion shops in your area. They are ideal people to get referrals from.
4) Get Quality Training

There are over 36 different hair extension techniques in the market place. If you really want to plan to be a success in this market, then you have to choose to become totally proficient in several techniques. There are many types of clients out there with varying hair problems, plan to be of service to you target market. Restricting yourself is restricting your potential income.

5) Be Classy (even if your working from home)

It’s best to set your hair extension studio up so that the right impact is made right from the moment the clients make an entrance or you make an entrance. Remember that the more professional the hair extension studio looks, the more you will be able to charge, as you will attract a more up market clientele. I always advise that the overall look must not out way the warmth and welcome of the studio. Clients like to feel relaxed with the staff and environment, not as if they are on show.
6) Flowers at reception or at your home always add a touch of class.

So does a smiling face, which helps to make each client’s, visit a welcoming visit right from the start. You can make the waiting area more impressive by including a great retail area, some hair extension brochures, and a book containing before and after photos. Provide some new, interesting magazines and hair books. Toss the old or torn ones out.
7) Always protect the clients clothing.

There should be a cupboard or rack for coats, or like some hair dressers have, a small dressing room for clients, who are given a gown to wear. This is a great idea as it removes the problem of high collars being in the way and clothes being ruined.

8) Get rid of shabby items.

Make sure there is a place for everything and enough storage space, so that the hair extension studio can be kept tidy. Get rid of the old wraps, used or shabby towels, and worn brushes. Never have dirty combs or tongs lying around. All of these things make a bad impression on clients.
9) No Carrier bags or damaged cases.

If you are mobile don’t turn up with carrier bags or a damaged beauty case. Make sure you are presentable and that your hair looks emaculate.
10) Don’t be afraid to change with the times.

If your hair extension studio starts to look outdated give it a facelift. Invest in the latest equipment. Make sure that the chairs not only look good, but also feel comfortable. If you are mobile make sure your equipment is up to date in line with your techniques.

15 Habits Women Entrepreneurs Must Cultivate to Improve Sales

Diane Shawe Author of a forthcoming book ‘The number 1 guide for women who hate selling: Practical Negotiation and Selling Skills’ explores many points on why a high percentage of self employed women don’t achieve the level of sales.

For example she take a look at some of the things women constructively forget to ask for?

 Women Don’t ask For The Order,

 women don’t ask for raises and promotions and better job opportunities.

 They don’t ask for recognition for the good work they do.

 They don’t ask for more help at home.

In other words, a high percentage of women are much less likely than men to use negotiation to get what they want. Instead they spend destructive energy moaning and gossiping about how hard  done by or discriminated against they feel.

Why does this matter?

TRADITIONAL
BELIEFS UNDER THREAT

“The traditional belief that we must prepare ourselves to be ‘employable’ is under threat. The counter argument encourages us to ‘gear up’ for earning our own money, rather than seeing income as someone else’s responsibility. With the population dramatically ageing and low-level jobs increasingly swallowed up by machinery, entrepreneurship will be a necessity for many, rather than a life-style choice for some”

Why does the average woman in today’s society still find themselves debating the perceived concept that they deserves more or should be rewarded with more?

And why are many women still less comfortable asking for changes that would improve their working conditions, enhance their job satisfaction, or help them expand a business more efficiently and profitably?

“What you think you become, what you feel you attract, what you image you create”

So what is a Business Rainmaker?

In business, a rainmaker is a person who brings in new business and wins new accounts almost by magic, since it is often not readily apparent how this new business activity is caused. It means generating substantial new business or additional cash flow from sources sometimes outside established business channels, sometimes by connecting with people in non-traditional or hidden markets, and sometimes by prompting current clients to spend more money.

A rainmaker is usually a key figure in the business or organisation. not merely a salesperson, but a principal or executive who is usually highly regarded within the enterprise.

So I am going to introduce some researched habits, However, cultivating these habits is well within the grasp of any successful female entrepreneur with sufficient commitment in order to become your own Rainmaker.

1. Successful rainmakers treat their clients as the most valuable asset of their business.

For most business entrepreneurs, the vast majority of new business derives, either directly or indirectly, from existing or past clients and referral sources. Past and current clients can be a source of new business by sending new matters. They also can be powerful referral sources.

Yet sometimes business entrepreneurs focus their marketing efforts on cultivating new relationships with people they have never done business with before.

They ask these “strangers” out to lunch, invite them to firm seminars, and call and e-mail them. Meanwhile, their most valuable assets—their existing clients—are being neglected. There is much to be said for customer acquisition strategy vs customer retension strategy.

2. Successful rainmakers treat their current and former clients as well as, or better than they would treat a prospective client.
They recognise that existing clients are the most important people in their marketing mix.

3. Successful rainmakers nurture their relationships

Nurturing your clients by providing outstanding, not just good, service, staying in touch on a regular basis, seeking feedback, celebrating clients’ successes, and showing appreciation by sending gifts or hosting special client-appreciation events.

4. Successful rainmakers make business development a priority.

Successful rainmakers recognise that to be successful at business development, they need to make it a priority and work at it on a consistent basis. They treat their business development activities with the same level of commitment that they bring to client service.

Making business development a priority is as much about mind-set as it is about time management.

There are opportunities to market each day. Throughout the day, business entrepreneurs talk to clients, competition, and even staff. Spending a few extra minutes deepening a relationship at the end of each of these conversations, whether on a professional or personal level, will dramatically increase the probability of winning business.
But mind-set is not enough.

Consistent business development requires a system. The approaches are limitless and highly personal. Some people spend the first ten minutes of each day involved in a business development activity. Some schedule business development on their calendars, just like client meetings.

The important thing is that there is a structure in place that keeps marketing a consistent priority, as opposed to something that is done when there is a lull in a busy workload.
