PLANNING, CONDUCTING AND GETTING RESULTS BY DIANE SHAWE

Pat yourself on the back a little bit more

When it comes to success, are you stuck in the same cycle, or are you ready to move beyond?
Are you ready to move forward – not just a step or two, but a whole level?

Are you ready to leap into a new existence of achievement and power and if so, what does that look like?

Are you ready to leave your old life behind and move right into the life you deserve and if so what would your life looked like?

But if you were so ready, wouldn’t you be there already?
Maybe. Maybe not.

Maybe, as much as you long for this dream world, you are also a little scared, a little nervous, or a little
hesitant, you might also be exhausted.

Maybe as much as you say you’re ready, you’re blocking your own way. The good news is, if you’re your own worst enemy, then the only thing standing between you and the life you’ve always imagined is… you!

http://www.virtualpersonalassistance.com/express-business-plan-fundraising. . .

And once you recognise the issues that are holding you back, you can address them, one at a time.
That’s what I hope to help you do in this short blog. I’ll discuss some of the main ways you can achieve
lasting change and progress towards your dreams. It won’t be easy, but it’ll be life-changing – if you are
willing to do the work.

  1. Up” Your Deserve Level
We can only achieve as much as we think we can.
Try this little exercise: Stand up and extend your arms out on both sides of your body. Close your
eyes and, turning at the waist, see how far you can twist to one side without causing yourself bodily
harm. Open your eyes and make a mental note of where you are pointing behind you. Now, close
your eyes and imagine yourself going a little farther. Ready, twist! Open your eyes and see if you
surpassed your previous point. If you’re like most people, you did!

Why didn’t you go further the first time? For the simple reason that you didn’t think you could. Once you
imagined yourself going further, you did. It’s not very complicated!

If you allow others or your mental beliefs to impose limits on your physical stretching, it makes sense that you’lle limit your mental and spiritual achievement, too. So, you need to ask yourself what limits you’re putting on your:
…dreams.

Are you dreaming big enough?
income potential. Are you unnecessarily or purposely limiting your income or salary?
relationships. Do you doubt what you can achieve or deserve in your friendships and family life?
physical health. Are you accepting less or making excuses other than the best because you think you’re too old or too outof shape?

The first step to changing your boundaries is to “up” your deserve level.

Here are three things that block you from accepting that you deserve the best:

1. Envy.

Envy is the result of a scarcity or lack mindset. You think that if someone else gets something – a
great job, a new car, a book deal – that you can’t have it, too.

That is not the way the universe works. Just because someone else gets something doesn’t mean no one else can’t as well. even Angelina Jones has been married more than once! Realise that whatever anyone else in this world has – from a great career to a great family to a great body – you can have it, too.

Live your life to the full

Use their example to inspire, rather than depress you.

2. Fear.

Fear is one of the greatest demotivators. It’s hard to feel limitless and powerful when you’re shaking in your shoes! It’s natural to feel scared of breaking outside your normal boundaries, but remind yourself that all growth takes place outside your comfort zone.

To grow, you must push your own limits, by definition. get comfortable with discomfort – see it as a sign of growth, much like aching muscles indicate you worked out hard and are getting stronger and leaner.

3. Laziness.

We tend to get used to where we are and decide that it’s good enough because we don’t really want to have to work harder. Time for a harsh truth: There are different types of laziness such as mental, emotional, physical and spiritual liziness.

If you want an extraordinary life, you’re going to have to go to some out-of-the-ordinary measures. That means pushing yourself, challenging yourself, coaching yourself, whatever it takes to motivate you to move beyond
“average.” Not that there is anything wrong with average.

Moving upward and onward starts with believing you deserve to have more and be more. It’s essential to
own your dreams – and dream big, But it’s also imperative to live in the now and appreciate each experience, each gift and your blessings.

Allow No Excuses

In the immortal words of one of the greatest philosophers of our generation:

Do or Do Not: There is no Try.

Yoda

Your body doesn’t care that you were going to eat the right foods and go to the gym, but it was your
birthday.

Your social media agent doesn’t care that you were going to finish that last chapter, but you was just too exhausted.

You do it, or you don’t. There are no points to trying. Once you accept that, you can move out of the victim
mentality you begin to realise that it really is all up to you!

The other thing you can be sure of is that 99.9 percent of people don’t really care if you succeed or not.

Whether you finish your novel, run the triathlon, start your business or your still holding onto a grudge – they’re going on about their life, without much regard to you and your goals.

http://www.virtualpersonalassistance.com/express-business-plan-fundraising. . .

It’s All up to you

What it really comes down to is that it’s all up to you, and it’s all about you. That’s a little scary, but it’s
also very empowering. That means once you make up your mind, no one can hold you back.

If you are ready for a quantum leap forward in your business, you can do so, today. You have it in the palm of your mobile phone.

MCT Oil – Why You Should Consider Adding It To Your Diet

7 Science-Based Benefits of MCT Oil

7 Science-Based Benefits of MCT Oil

MCT oil is a supplement often added to smoothies, bulletproof coffee and salad dressings.
As the name suggests, medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil contains medium-length chains of fats called triglycerides. Due to their shorter length, MCTs are easily digested and many health benefits are linked to the way your body processes these fats.

So Let’s Get To The Bottom Line First!

Taking MCT oil could have many benefits and very few risks.

  • For starters, it contains fatty acids that can promote weight loss by reducing body fat, increasing fullness and potentially improving your gut environment.
  • MCTs are also a great source of energy and may fight bacterial growth, help protect your heart and aid in managing diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy and autism.
  • Potential drawbacks may include increased hunger and possible fat accumulation in your liver. However, as long as you keep to 1–2 tablespoons per day and use it to replace — not add — to your normal fat intake, any negative side effects are unlikely.
  • At the end of the day, MCT oil is a convenient way to take advantage of all the health benefits MCTs have to offer.

So where does it originate from

MCT oil is most commonly extracted from coconut oil, as more than 50% of the fat in coconut oil comes from MCTs. These fats are also found in many other foods, such as palm oil and dairy products.

Four different types of MCTs exist, of which caprylic and capric acid are most commonly used for MCT oil. In some cases, these specific types have unique benefits.

Here are 7 science-backed benefits you can get from adding MCT oil to your diet.

1. Promotes Weight Loss in Several Important Ways

There are several reasons why MCT oil may be beneficial when you’re trying to lose weight.

MCT oil has been shown to increase the release of two hormones that promote the feeling of fullness in the body: peptide YY and leptin. It may even be better than coconut oil in keeping you full. One study found that people taking two tablespoons of MCT oil as part of their breakfast ended up eating less food for lunch compared to those taking coconut oil.

The same study also discovered a lower rise in triglycerides and glucose with MCT oil, which may also influence the feeling of fullness.

Additionally, taking MCT oil has been shown to significantly reduce body weight and waist circumference. Researchers even report that it could help prevent obesity.

MCT oil has about 10% fewer calories than long-chain triglycerides (LCTs), which are found in foods such as olive oil, nuts and avocados

Your body also processes MCTs differently, which may help you burn calories

Your body can use MCT oil as an instant source of energy, making it unnecessary to store fat for this purpose. Nevertheless, it’s important to note that your body may adapt to this dietary change, leading to only temporary results.

MCTs can be converted into ketones, which are produced from the breakdown of fat when carb intake is low. If you’re following a ketogenic diet, which is very low in carbs yet high in fat, then taking MCT oil can help you stay in the fat-burning state known as ketosis.

Lastly, your gut environment is very important when it comes to your weight. MCT oil can help optimize the growth of good bacteria and support the gut lining, which could also help you lose weight.

SUMMARY

MCT oil may support weight loss by increasing fullness, fat loss, energy burning, ketone production and by improving your gut environment.

2. Instant Source of Energy That Can Also Be Used to Fuel Your Brain

MCT oil has been dubbed a super fuel since your body absorbs MCTs more rapidly than long-chain triglycerides (LCTs), which contain more carbons in their fatty acid chains.

Due to their shorter chain length, MCTs travel straight from the gut to the liver and do not require bile to break down like longer-chain fats do.

In the liver, the fats are broken down to be either used as fuel or stored as body fat.

Since MCTs easily enter your cells without being broken down, they can be used as an immediate source of energy.

When you’re on a ketogenic diet, MCTs can also be converted into ketones in the liver.

These ketones can pass through your blood-brain barrier, making them a convenient source of energy for your brain cells.

SUMMARY

MCT oil is easily absorbed and transported throughout the body. It can be used as an instant source of energy or can be converted into ketones to fuel your brain.

3. May Reduce Lactate Buildup in Athletes and Help Use Fat for Energy

MCT oil has gained popularity amongst athletes. During exercise, rising lactate levels can negatively impact exercise performance.

Interestingly, MCTs may help with lactate buildup. One study found that athletes who took 6 grams or about 1.5 teaspoons of MCTs with food before cycling had lower lactate levels and found it easier to exercise, compared to those taking LCTs. Furthermore, the study found that taking the MCT oil before exercise may help you use more fat instead of carbs for energy.

Even though MCTs can increase fat burning during exercise, study results are mixed as to whether MCT oil can help you exercise better. One study showed it could improve swimming capacity in mice, but another human-based study found no improvement in endurance performance in runners.
At the very least, the results of one animal study suggest that MCT oil does not negatively affect exercise performance, which is encouraging.

SUMMARY

MCT oil can increase fat burning and reduce the need for carbs during exercise. However, it is unclear whether this translates to improved exercise performance.

4. Could Help Manage Epilepsy, Alzheimer’s Disease and Autism

Studies have shown that MCT oil and a ketogenic diet may help manage conditions such as epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, and autism.

Epilepsy

While the ketogenic diet has gained popularity amongst people wishing to lose weight, it was first introduced as a way of managing epilepsy.
Scientists found that fasting increases ketone production and that this may reduce the frequency of epileptic seizures.

Since MTCs can be converted into ketones, they may be beneficial in managing epilepsy. However, the type of MCT may be important. One test-tube study showed that the MCT capric acid improved seizure control better than a widespread anti-epileptic drug.

Another study in rats found that the same MCT blocked receptors in the brain that cause seizures, though more human studies are needed. In addition, it’s important to note that a ketogenic diet is not for everyone and can be challenging to follow long term.

If you are considering a ketogenic diet to help manage your epilepsy, talk to your doctor or nutrition professional first.

Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s disease impairs your brain’s ability to use sugar. An MCT ketogenic diet offers an alternative energy source: ketones. This allows brain cells to survive better. It also blocks a receptor in the brain that causes memory loss.

One study found that a single dose of MCTs improved short-term cognition in 20 people with Alzheimer’s disease with a certain gene type, namely APOE ɛ4-negative.

While genetic factors play a role, evidence suggests that 20–70 grams of supplemental MCTs that include caprylic or capric acid can modestly improve the symptoms of mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s.
Overall, the benefits of MCT oil in Alzheimer’s disease are promising, but longer and larger scale studies are needed .

Autism

MCT oil may also help children with autism.
One study found positive overall improvements when a ketogenic diet was followed for 6 months. Another study found that adding MCTs to a ketogenic and gluten-free diet substantially improved autism behaviors for 6 of the 15 children involved. Because autism is a spectrum condition, it can affect people in different ways.

This means that adding MCT oil to your child’s diet may help to varying degrees or may show no positive effects. More research is needed here, as well.
If you are considering a ketogenic diet to help manage your child’s autism, talk to your doctor or nutrition professional first.

SUMMARY

MCT oil may improve brain function, which could have benefits for people with epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease and autism.

5. Contains Powerful Fatty Acids That Fight Yeast and Bacterial Growth

MCTs have been shown to have antimicrobial and anti fungal effects.
Coconut oil, which contains a large amount of MCTs, has been shown to reduce the growth of Candida albicans by 25%. This is a common yeast that can cause thrush and various skin infections.

A test-tube study also showed that coconut oil reduced the growth of a disease-causing bacteria called Clostridium difficile.
Coconut oil’s ability to reduce yeast and bacterial growth may be due to the caprylic, capric and lauric acid in MCTs.

MCTs themselves have also been shown to suppress the growth of a widespread infectious fungus in hospitals by up to 50%. However, note that most of the research on MCTs and immune support has been conducted via test-tube or animal studies. High-quality human studies are needed before stronger conclusions can be made.

SUMMARY

MCT oil contains fatty acids that have been shown to reduce the growth of yeast and bacteria. Overall, MCTs may have a variety of antimicrobial and anti-fungal effects.

6. May Reduce Risk Factors for Heart Disease, Such as Weight and Cholesterol

Heart disease is a growing problem. Some factors that increase your risk include high cholesterol, blood pressure, inflammation, being overweight and smoking.

MCT oil has been shown to support weight and fat loss. This may, in turn, help reduce your risk of heart disease.  A study of 24 overweight men found that taking MCT oil combined with phytosterols and flaxseed oil for 29 days reduced total cholesterol by 12.5%. However, when olive oil was used instead, the reduction was only 4.7%.

The same study also found better reductions in LDL or “bad” cholesterol when the MCT oil mixture was added to their diet. Moreover, MCT oil can also increase the production of heart-protective HDL or “good” cholesterol .
It can even significantly reduce C-reactive protein (CRP), an inflammatory marker that increases the risk of heart disease. Additional studies found that MCT-oil-based mixtures can have a positive effect on other heart disease risk factors, as well.

SUMMARY
MCT oil may reduce heart disease risk factors such as weight, cholesterol and inflammation. Adding it to your diet could help lower your risk of heart disease.

7. May Help Control Blood Sugar Levels and Support Diabetes Management

MCT oil may also have benefits for those with diabetes. Most people with type 2 diabetes are overweight or obese, which makes diabetes harder to manage. However, MCTs have been shown to reduce fat storage and increase fat burning.
One small Chinese study of 40 people with diabetes found that those who consumed MCT oil daily had significant reductions in body weight, waist circumference and insulin resistance, compared to those taking corn oil containing LCTs.

Another study found that when 10 people with diabetes were injected with insulin, they needed 30% less sugar to maintain normal blood sugar levels when they consumed MCTs, compared to LCTs. However, the same study did not find any effect of MCTs on reducing fasting blood sugar levels. Therefore, other factors such as timing and the amount of food eaten may influence the effects of MCT oil.

SUMMARY

MCT oil may help manage diabetes by reducing fat storage and increasing fat burning. It may also help you control your blood sugar.

Potential Drawbacks of MCT Oil

Although MCTs are considered safe, they may have some disadvantages.

May Stimulate the Release of Hunger Hormones

While MCTs can increase the release of hormones that help you feel fuller longer, they may also stimulate the release of hunger hormones in some people
A study on people with anorexia found that MCTs increased the release of two hormones that stimulate appetite: ghrelin and neuropeptide Y.

People who took more than 6 grams of MCTs per day produced more of these hormones than those who had less than 1 gram per day.
However, it is unclear whether the increase in these hormones actually causes you to eat more.

High Doses Could Lead to Fat Buildup in the Liver

High doses of MCT oil may increase the amount of fat in your liver in the long term.
One 12-week study in mice found that a diet in which 50% of the fats were MCTs increased liver fat. Interestingly, the same study also found that MCTs reduced total body fat and improved insulin resistance.

However, keep in mind that high doses of MCT oil, such as those in the study above, are not recommended. Overall, more research is needed on the long-term effects of MCT oil.

MCTs are high in calories and usually only make up about 5–10% of your total calorie intake. If you are trying to maintain or lose weight, you should consume MCT oil as part of your total amount of fat intake and not as an additional amount of fat.

SUMMARY

MCT oil increases the release of hunger hormones, which could lead to increased food intake. In the long term, it may also increase the amount of fat in your liver.

WHY YOUR HAIR CHANGES EVERY THREE MONTHS AND HOW TO NOTICE IT

It’s crucial to understand the different stages that your hair can change in order to promote healthy haircare

Article by Diane Shawe ME.d and Author

Did you know that your hair has a life of its own? But we intervene daily with various chemicals internally and externally applied then we bully the hair with unnaturally high temperatures, creams, sprays, tight braids and cornrows.

On top of that apart from the odd bad hair day, our hair actually goes through a natural cycle of growth consisting of three distinct stages, each of which can change its texture and appearance.

All of your hair is at different Growth Cycle

Hair Growth Cycle

The most notable of these is the growth phase, known as anagen, during which individual hair follicles grow for roughly a six year period.

This is followed by a 10-day-long transitional period known as catagen and a three month resting period, referred to as telogen, during which time the hair will shed.

After this, the hair follicles should remain inactive for roughly three months before the entire process is repeated. However, it’s worth noting that each hair follicle goes through the growth cycle at different times, otherwise your hair would all fall out at the same time.

It’s crucial to understand the three phases of the cycle in order to ensure you’re taking care of your hair appropriately, explains Diane Shawe of Need a Hair Makeover Specialist Salon.

“During the growing stage, the hair needs to be kept in the best condition as it will remain in this state for five to seven years,”

Meanwhile, during the catagen period it’s imperative to ensure that your hair is properly nourished so as to promote blood flow to the scalp, and recommends a hair mask or overnight treatment as a way to do this.

However, despite the distinct stages, it can be difficult to identify when they are occurring because the changes may be very subtle, but the more obvious reasons for changes is ageing.

Taking good care of your hair is important

“Over time, some women and men may notice thinning in their hair which is usually down to hormonal changes, health issues and too much use of external toxins applied through use of various haircare products. For instance some women report thicker, fuller hair during their pregnancy when they are producing more hormones, and then hair loss or thinning after they’ve given birth as the hormone levels return to normal.”

According to research and credible reports the average woman loses 50-100 hairs a day. While this shouldn’t be cause for concern, if evidence of extensive hair loss is something you’re worried about see your doctor or hair loss Specialist.

Many women are often persuaded to opt for a shorter cut when they are older, but you should seek advice on alternates and see if they may be able to suggest the best way to make your hair look fuller.

According to Hair Extensions and Hairloss expert and author Diane Shawe, the appearance of a person’s hair can also act as a “snapshot of their general health and wellbeing,” meaning it can also change outside of its natural cycle for a number of reasons such as dietary changes or health challenges.

Theres more to adding hair

The good thing is that hair can be changed and improved either by hair treatments, hair extensions or supplements, you really don’t have to have what nature gives you!”.

The way your hair transforms over time can also be affected by the amount of heat you expose it to, explains Diane as more and more women turn to high performance ceramic high temperature straighteners and curlers.

When you are a child, hair condition tends to be good as hair is not subjected to as much chemical or heat damage, but sadly this is also changing as advertisers target young teenagers who then pressure their parents into gifting or lending them these tools.

As you get older and start to use colours, chemical products and tools (hair dryers, straighteners, tongs), hair quality can diminish unless properly looked after and so this is why need a hair makeover often recommend having regular deep conditioning mask and steam treatments accompanied by a trim or cuts.

Client loyalty is not the same as it use to be and here’s why

Loyalty is not the same as it once used to be. People move on fast and forget faster and the best dis-loyality tool is the mobile phone because it pumps tempting offers and inform them of alternative and your competitor in seconds!

Article by Diane Shawe

Admit it, we all use our mobile phone search tools like our life depended on it.

One of the problems many small businesses face is the challenge to stay current, modern and up to date. The temptations to scale up and expand instead of focussing on their core brand and what they stand for is often erased from any growth plans. For example, although I enjoyed the odd facial a this local beauty salon, I never quite figured out what they really stood for because they seem to offer all sorts of bits and bobs in the salon.. I take many felt the same way…

So I am going to focus on salons at the moment because I think they face a growing challenge each day from the swelling mobile provider.

How about your salon? Sometimes it is tempting to scale up by trying to innovate, hire more and invest in the next best computer systems, but if you take your eye off your brand’s core values, your clients will slowly start to move away from you.

That of course, does not mean you are not to leap from your current situation to the next stage (whatever that might be), but as you do, here are some things worth remembering…

If you don’t know what your salon brand stands for neither do your clients (we do hair is not enough) Perhaps you should consider another way that you can grow stronger and that could be by scaling back to basics.

If you don’t know where you are driving, chances of arriving anywhere is pretty slim

The latest computer systems do not mean higher sales, could have the opposite effect

Here are 5 tips to get you started on the right path to scaling back:

  1. Ugly flyers can give you more than you need to get busy on a Tuesday afternoon and ultimately.
  2. Every quarter, it is wise to unplug, review, reevaluate, then set in goals, visions, and targets.
  3. It is wise to craft your salon message than learn how to communicate with your clients. Use Social media it can be cheaper andvery effective.
  4. If you stop promotions and marketing you will cut the lifeline from your sales so don’t.
  5. If you don’t understand your individual team member’s needs and aspirations you will always be having staff walkouts (their needs is not what you think they are) Keeping your staff happy can bring in more sales.

… so the moral of this message is, when you are thinking about scaling up, remember, it’s not always about expansions and latest technological innovations, think holistically, think outside the box and remember sometimes scaling back will give you the boost you need to eventually scale up.

After all, when you give a cat some cream they purr, keeping your customers and enticing them to sell your exceptional services is worth investing some quality thinking time each quarter and then acting upon it.

Happy scaling back and leaping from this to that onto making your clients happy.

What are the main benefits of FUE over FUT Hair Transplant Procedures

ARTICLE BY DIANE SHAWE

Follicular unit transplantation (FUT) is a hair restoration technique, also known as the strip procedure, where a patient’s hair is transplanted in naturally occurring groups of 1 to 4 hairs, called follicular units. Follicular units also contain sebaceous (oil) glands, nerves, a small muscle, and occasional fine vellus hairs. In follicular unit transplantation, these small units allow the surgeon to safely transplant thousands of grafts in a single session, which maximizes the cosmetic impact of the procedure.

Additionally it is recorded that the risk of long term nerve damage, leading to chronic numbness and/or pain in the donor area can be a side effect of the FUT procedure.

Follicular unit extraction (FUE) is a great surgical option for patients who want to restore their hair with minimal discomfort and scarring. FUE is considered by many to be the most refined approach to hair transplantation.

However, with FUE, the follicles are harvested from a much greater area of the donor zone compared to FUT, estimated to be eight times greater than that of traditional strip excision so requires patients to have hairs trimmed in a much larger donor area

FUE provides an alternative to FUT when the scalp is too tight for a strip excision and enables a hair transplant surgeon to harvest finer hair from the nape of the neck to be used at the hairline or for eyebrows.

Follicular unit extraction (FUE) generally has a quicker patient recovery time and significantly lower post-operative discomfort than follicular unit transplantation (FUT).

The verdict

The survival of follicular units upon extraction (FUE) from the scalp is one of the key variables of successful hair transplantation. If follicular units are transected in the extraction process, there is a greater likelihood that they will not survive the transplant, and the hair transplant will fail. While FUT procedures using strip-harvesting of follicular units typically guarantees a large number of non-transected follicular units. It really depends on the client and the overall visual outcome they want to achieve as to which technique they use and how deep their pockets are.
