Communication

Good communication actually consists of many different sub-skills, from appropriate patterns of body language and eye contact to the ability to write clear and accurate reports. Accurate listening and the ability to follow instructions are especially important but are often ignored or taken for granted.

Many people simply do not pay close attention to what others communicate and fail to ask follow-up questions to understand fully. As a result, individuals act on their own inaccurate assumptions and create inefficiencies and frustrations at work. If you can really listen, your work will be a cut above many of your peers.

Being an empathetic individual comes naturally to some, but is less natural to others. Behaving with empathy is more than feeling bad for someone who’s sad, or sharing in someone else’s joy. It means being able to step into someone else’s world to understand not just what their point of view is, but also to understand why they have that point of view.

Your Guided Meditation Will Be More Successful if You Can Visualise In British Pounds Here’s Why

Guided meditation and affirmations with visualised images are very popular on Youtube.

Visualising in British Pounds will help Your Manifestation

Visualisation activates the creative powers of the subconscious mind, motivating it to work harder at creating solutions. If done correctly some people have noticed new levels of motivation and find themselves doing things that normally they would avoid, but that will take them closer to success.

Visualisation and affirmations can help you to change your beliefsassumptions, and opinions about the most important person in your life — YOU! They allow you to harness the 18 billion brain cells in your brain and get them all working in a singular and purposeful direction.

Click to start Listening to our Guided Money Meditation on Youtube

Your subconscious will become engaged in a process that transforms you forever. This happens intensionally or unintensionally because the subconcious mind absorbs everything every waking and sleeping moments of your life.

The process is invisible and doesn’t take a long time. this is why it is important to put in the time to visualise and affirm by practicing your techniques, surround yourself with positive people, read uplifting books and listen to audio programs that flood your mind with positive, life-affirming messages.

Negative Thinking is the Enemy

It is no secret that negative thinking is part of almost everyone’s life.

For some reason, it seems it is easier to think negative thoughts, than to think positive thoughts. The mind and emotions are vast, it is true that people are not taught to think expecially at school, so people tend to flip flop between thoughts and emotions.

Unpleasant situations, problems and difficulties arise in everyone’s lives, and these events cause negative thinking.

Often, people are not very much aware of the thoughts they are thinking, and therefore, get easily immersed with negative thoughts and negative moods when listening to the news or to people talking about their problems.  There is also a tendancy to gossip and gossip is almosy always negative.

It would be a good strategy to avoid negative discussion which can contribute to negative thinking though, in many cases, it is easier said than done.

So for instance when you decide to start some guided meditation there is often 3 choices. a) music only b) verbal affirmations c) visual/images (There is an agruement for silent meditation but this is not guided but may be personally accomplished privately or in a group)

a) Music:  Often people will select a piece of music that either calms them, inspire or motivates them. If the music you come across grates on your nerves then it is unlikely that you will consider listening to it.

b) Verbal Affirmations: Words Matter and if the words you are hearing sound unbelievable then your subconcious mind and your inner self talk will start a negative debate about what you are listening too.  So it is important that the verbal affirmation you select empowers your inner self, does not cause resistance or sounds unachievable.

c) Visual Images: Most of you would have heard the term ‘Create a vision board’ the purpose being to solidify the visual image into your subconcious mind everyday reinforcing your desires, dream or wish to come true. There are lots of Guided meditation videos on Youtube and the stats show that a high percentage of guided money meditations are listened to each day around the world.

Do you need help with getting more appointments or leads?

However if you are british or european and your watching a guided money  meditation in dollars there is instantly a conflict because the image does not fit your currency reality.

You will succeed in neutralising your efforts if you think  positively about your goal for a few minutes, and have doubts or think about them negatively the rest of the day. So it is important to match your money mantra meditation with the currency you predominatly use every day, otherwise this is poor investment of your time, and is one of the main reasons why you are not getting results.

Meaningful Guided Meditation

Guided Meditation, Visualisation and Miracle Tones stimulate positivity which  are essential components to focusing your intentions in a quiet moment to bring about change, bring you clients, bring you business, cashflow and business growth.

No matter your business, startup, not for profit, online business or charity, taking time out to clear your mind and focus on what you want to achieve with a clear vision can be very enlightening.

The brain is still a membrain that needs rest, need oxygen and the right minerals to support it.  There is also lots of evidence to support that certain tones when listened to can stimulate deep into the brain. In this Guided Money Meditation, affirmations are powerful wrapped into the solfeggio tones and biennial beats with wads of british pounds tumbling towards you with a little added surprise.

Start your Guided Money Meditation Right Away

You can watch and listen or just listen to this guided meditation anytime. To help you manifest your goals which will translate into money for your business try this guided money meditation in british pounds for 7 days. Please do not use whilst driving.

PLANNING, CONDUCTING AND GETTING RESULTS BY DIANE SHAWE

Pat yourself on the back a little bit more

When it comes to success, are you stuck in the same cycle, or are you ready to move beyond?
Are you ready to move forward – not just a step or two, but a whole level?

Are you ready to leap into a new existence of achievement and power and if so, what does that look like?

Are you ready to leave your old life behind and move right into the life you deserve and if so what would your life looked like?

But if you were so ready, wouldn’t you be there already? Maybe. Maybe not.

Maybe, as much as you long for this dream world, you are also a little scared, a little nervous, or a little
hesitant, you might also be exhausted.

Maybe as much as you say you’re ready, you’re blocking your own way. The good news is, if you’re your own worst enemy, then the only thing standing between you and the life you’ve always imagined is… you!

http://www.virtualpersonalassistance.com/express-business-plan-fundraising. . .

And once you recognise the issues that are holding you back, you can address them, one at a time.
That’s what I hope to help you do in this short blog. I’ll discuss some of the main ways you can achieve
lasting change and progress towards your dreams. It won’t be easy, but it’ll be life-changing – if you are
willing to do the work.

  1. Up” Your Deserve Level
We can only achieve as much as we think we can.
Try this little exercise: Stand up and extend your arms out on both sides of your body. Close your
eyes and, turning at the waist, see how far you can twist to one side without causing yourself bodily
harm. Open your eyes and make a mental note of where you are pointing behind you. Now, close
your eyes and imagine yourself going a little farther. Ready, twist! Open your eyes and see if you
surpassed your previous point. If you’re like most people, you did!

Why didn’t you go further the first time? For the simple reason that you didn’t think you could. Once you
imagined yourself going further, you did. It’s not very complicated!

If you allow others or your mental beliefs to impose limits on your physical stretching, it makes sense that you’lle limit your mental and spiritual achievement, too. So, you need to ask yourself what limits you’re putting on your:
…dreams.

Are you dreaming big enough?

income potential. Are you unnecessarily or purposely limiting your income or salary?
relationships. Do you doubt what you can achieve or deserve in your friendships and family life?
physical health.

Are you accepting less or making excuses other than the best because you think you’re too old or too outof shape?

The first step to changing your boundaries is to “up” your deserve level.

Here are three things that block you from accepting that you deserve the best:

1. Envy.

Envy is the result of a scarcity or lack mindset. You think that if someone else gets something – a
great job, a new car, a book deal – that you can’t have it, too.

That is not the way the universe works. Just because someone else gets something doesn’t mean no one else can’t as well. even Angelina Jones has been married more than once! Realise that whatever anyone else in this world has – from a great career to a great family to a great body – you can have it, too.

Live your life to the full

Use their example to inspire, rather than depress you.

2. Fear.

Fear is one of the greatest demotivators. It’s hard to feel limitless and powerful when you’re shaking in your shoes! It’s natural to feel scared of breaking outside your normal boundaries, but remind yourself that all growth takes place outside your comfort zone.

To grow, you must push your own limits, by definition. get comfortable with discomfort – see it as a sign of growth, much like aching muscles indicate you worked out hard and are getting stronger and leaner.

3. Laziness.

We tend to get used to where we are and decide that it’s good enough because we don’t really want to have to work harder. Time for a harsh truth: There are different types of laziness such as mental, emotional, physical and spiritual liziness.

If you want an extraordinary life, you’re going to have to go to some out-of-the-ordinary measures. That means pushing yourself, challenging yourself, coaching yourself, whatever it takes to motivate you to move beyond
“average.” Not that there is anything wrong with average.

Moving upward and onward starts with believing you deserve to have more and be more. It’s essential to
own your dreams – and dream big, But it’s also imperative to live in the now and appreciate each experience, each gift and your blessings.

Allow No Excuses

In the immortal words of one of the greatest philosophers of our generation:

Do or Do Not: There is no Try.

Yoda

Your body doesn’t care that you were going to eat the right foods and go to the gym, but it was your
birthday.

Your social media agent doesn’t care that you were going to finish that last chapter, but you was just too exhausted.

You do it, or you don’t. There are no points to trying. Once you accept that, you can move out of the victim
mentality you begin to realise that it really is all up to you!

The other thing you can be sure of is that 99.9 percent of people don’t really care if you succeed or not.

Whether you finish your novel, run the triathlon, start your business or your still holding onto a grudge – they’re going on about their life, without much regard to you and your goals.

http://www.virtualpersonalassistance.com/express-business-plan-fundraising. . .

It’s All up to you

What it really comes down to is that it’s all up to you, and it’s all about you. That’s a little scary, but it’s
also very empowering. That means once you make up your mind, no one can hold you back.

How I increased my blog followers by 1000 in 2 months after having a blog for 18 years!

article by Diane Shawe Author

There’s more to adding hair

Running a blog requires planning and it’s hard work, but with hard work comes results. I gained 1k blog followers in 2 months, and today I’m going to share some of the steps I took to achieved this. I truly did not expect to gain 1k followers in 2 months, but this is what happens when we have self doubt and don’t take action.

But I was thinking back to when I started blogging in September 2010 it was easier than because blogging was just getting popular. Even though, I still would have really appreciated a post like this. As some sort of motivation and guidance.

If you are here because you think I’m going to give you some secret code that gives you those followers overnight, you are looking in the wrong place. This happened from hard work and dedication and nothing more. It wont happen overnight and it didn’t for me as you can see, I have been blogging a long time. The tips I share are the things I did to make this happen. It’s up to you to take action and put in the hard work to see the results.

CONSISTENCY IS REALLY IMPORTANT

I talk often about consistency, but that’s because I want to stress how important it is. Having a blogging schedule and sticking to it something that helped me to see my audience grow. I post anywhere from five, six or seven times a week. Thats a lot of content. As I said in the intro, its not easy and it wont ever be easy being consistent.

http://www.needahairmakeoverfranchise.co.uk

I constantly feel like I am writing and scheduling content. I will touch on social media a few points down but you should also be consistent with Social media too. Any platform that you can use to spread awareness for your blog you should use. Utilise it if it’s there.

TRY INTERACTING WITH OTHER BLOGGERS

One of the most important things to do if you are part of the blogging community is interaction. You won’t ever grow if you don’t interact and support others. When I first started in 2010 blogging was just getting popular, so getting followers was easier, but with the growth of social media and ‘snippet’ such as twitter attracting followers have become more competitive, so thing such as ‘Tasty Headers’ to attract that click is all the more important. Its a two way street blog writer want new folowers, interesting topics to re-tweet so they can gain more followers also.

Yes, you will get traffic to your site from people other than bloggers but you need that blogging community behind you in order for your blog to be successful.

HOW DOES SOCIAL MEDIA HELP?

Instagram, Twitter and Facebook are the main places where a lot of my social media traffic comes from. Pinterest and TiKTok is another social media platform that is great to gain traffic to your blog. To reach a professional audience Linkedin is also a very good patform.

follow us on twitter

A shoutout for Youtube, if you can get over 1000 followers, you are given a community page were you can post your blog links.

Linking into the point I made about consistency, its just as important to be consistent on your social media pages too.

UPGRADING MY WORDPRESS PLAN

About a 9 month into rebranding my blog I decided to upgrade my WordPress plan to a premium plan. This was probably one of the best things I could have done, it gave me access to be able to add ads onto my blog and it gave me access to premium themes. The premium plan is worth it for people who have just started but want to take their blog further.

I am still decided whether to upgrade to the WordPress business plan. This will allow me to take my blogging to the next level. With the business plan it allows you to download and use plug ins, such as Yoast SEO. Which is a tool that tells you how you can improve your posts to help with google ranking. Which in turn helps with traffic and followers.

Its something you should consider but make sure you can afford it, especially if you are wanting to take your blogging more serious and grow your following.

RELATABLE CONTENT IS KING

An important thing to remember when wanting to grow your following is posting relatable content. Do your research and see what’s going on in the world and what people are searching for, and then blog about it. A lot of the time I write about what I’m going through. I wont necessarily say on the post that its from personal experience or something I am struggling with at the time, but that’s what I do. There are ideas and inspiration all around us.

THERE IS NO PROBLEM IN BROADENING YOUR BLOG NICHE

g.page/needahairmakeover

Being vulnerable goes a long way with readers. They are able to connect with you on such a deeper level if they know you are being open with them.

I’ve had many conversations with other bloggers about this, but I think it’s so important that as bloggers we are also flexible in what we write about. I think it’s so great having a blog niche, but don’t be scared to step out of it every once and a while. Don’t stress about writing something different, you don’t know how your readers will receive it unless you just do it. You will note from my blog that I cover a wide variety of topics.

These are just a few things I have done to grow my following. Please remember that these things worked for me. I hope they help you too!

Thank you for 1k followers

Why You Should Consider a CPD Accredited Course by Diane Shawe

If you’re looking to boost your career prospects, you may want to consider the importance of CPD. Used by thousands of professionals to develop new skills and knowledge throughout their career, CPD has become crucial in terms of career progression. So, what is CPD and how could it benefit your career prospects?

What does CPD stand for?

Click to Enrol on a Course today

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development and it is important as it’s used by professionals to further their career. It’s a conscious and proactive form of learning which uses various methods to help individuals either learn new skills or develop existing ones.

What is a CPD portfolio?

A CPD portfolio helps keep a track of progression from year to year. It is an individual’s evidential documentation of their Continuing Professional Development obligations for their professional body or association. Contained within a CPD portfolio would be the register of activities, such as training courses, workshops and educational events attended, as well as a copy of the delegate CPD certificates for each activity. These act as validation that the learning has been completed. (It is also important that the course has been CPD accredited)

Professional bodies review their members CPD portfolio to ensure they are meeting their annual Continuing Professional Development requirements. A CPD portfolio should demonstrate a range of different methods of learning and the different impacts on future capability. Always ensure that you keep your CPD portfolio up to date, as it is more difficult to record CPD at the end of the year, hoping to remember everything completed over the last 12 months.

CPD points, units and credits explained

One of the most frequent questions about Continuing Professional Development is how CPD is recorded, and specifically the question, “What is a CPD point, unit or credit?” The subsequent question is regularly, “How do CPD points relate to CPD Hours?” With the increasing number of professional bodies in the UK and their varying annual requirements of Continuing Professional Development, a natural split in common language terms and expression will arise. Different professional bodies use the terms ‘CPD points’, ‘CPD units’ or ‘CPD credits’ diversely depending on preference, typically for historical reasons when initially implementing their CPD policy, rather than from a modern day strategic perspective.

How do CPD points, units and credits relate to CPD Hours?

It is often found across all industries that CPD points, units and credits all relate to the same thing, CPD Hours?

What are CPD Hours? The definition of a CPD Hour is the time spent for a delegate to be in “active learning”. Active learning defines the actual time spent learning something relevant for their Continuing Professional Development objectives. A great example of this would be 1-day accredited CPD training course. If the training starts at 9 am and ends at 5 pm, with a 1-hour break for lunch, the CPD Hours would be 7 CPD Hours.

Recording your CPD

A structured and consistent approach to recording your CPD makes it easier to manage throughout the year. This also helps ensure an individual attends training and events relevant to their annual capability improvement objectives, which is more valuable than simply attending courses just for general interest. Recording your CPD allows reflection on what has been gained from the CPD activities and what can be implemented in day-to-day objectives, as well as what skill sets to develop next.

As a general rule, when recording your Continuing Professional Development in a CPD portfolio, it should contain the following information:- Date of CPD activity, Title of CPD activity, Brief description including learning objectives, the method of learning (i.e. training course, workshop, event, eLearning), number of CPD hours, points or credits and the overall learning outcome.

5 Benefits of CPD

CPD offers numerous benefits to both professionals and their employers, some of which are of real importance.

1. For you as a professional, it helps to ensure your skills and knowledge are up to date, and the professional standard of your registrations and qualifications are maintained. There are no clear disadvantages for your employer, it ensures that the company standards are both high and consistent. They will see that you are actively dedicated to the job role and value your commitment to the role.

2. Another one of the benefits of CPD and a main purpose of exploring the benefits of continuous personal development is that it also helps you to develop more confidence in the role. You’ll be able to showcase your achievements and develop the knowledge and skills to carry out your job in the most effective, confident way.

3. Whether you’re looking for a promotion, or you’re hoping to gain employment with a prestigious company, CPD can really help. It enables you to stand out from the crowd, with research showing those who have undertaken CPD, have a significantly higher chance of gaining a promotion or moving on to a different area within their chosen field.

4. What this also means of course, is that you’ll also be able to achieve a higher salary.

5. If you are self employed or run your own business, having a CPD accredited skill to your name can give confidence to established and new clients.

These are just some of the great benefits CPD can provide. The question is, how can you partake in continuous professional development?

Continuing Your Professional Development

If you’re interested in undergoing CPD, it’s worth keeping in mind there’s a lot of different types to choose from. Practically anything which can further your knowledge and skills is classed as CPD. This includes:

• Events

• Training courses

• Workshops or Workbooks

• Research

• E-Learning

Each of the above has its own range of benefits and most professionals choose to undergo several types of CPD for best results.

Things to consider

If you want CPD to further your career, there’s a number of factors you need to consider.

1. Ensuring you’re undertaking the correct type of CPD to fit your goals is crucial in helping you minimise any disadvantages. It’s not enough to simply find a course which matches your industry.

2. You also need to consider whether or not the training matches your end goal. Thinking about the importance of CPD suiting your chosen industry might potentially save you time in the future.

3. Have you got the time to commit to the CPD course you’re considering? If you’re already working, you’ll need to find a part-time course which also fits around your family and budget commitments. You’re also going to want to consider the type of study you prefer.

4. Do you thrive in studying with others? If so, you’ll want to look into in-venue courses and seminars. If your sole purpose is to study alone at your own pace, an e-learning or workbook based CPD course would be a better option.

• Problem solving helps you identify all aspects of a stressful event and find ways to deal with it.
• Changing your communication style helps you communicate in a way that makes your views known without making others feel put down, hostile, or intimidated.

This reduces the stress that comes from poor communication. Use the assertiveness ladder to improve your communication style.

Turning 50 isn’t the end of a business career – new wave of silvererpreneurs

Get qualified in days not years

The only way is up after a downturn

article by Diane Shawe M.Ed

Turning 50 isn’t the end of a business career – it’s the beginning. And an ever-growing wave of ‘olderpreneurs’, starting a business have 70% chance of surviving their first five years compared with only a 28% survival rate for those younger than them.

Nearly half the self-employment population is over 50, and one in six new businesses started in the UK are set up by post-half-centurions.

So what’s fuelling the entrepreneurial impetus of the ‘silver startup’, and why are they doing so well?

Necessity

The over-50s age group has been particularly hard-hit by the recession. Last year, the Office of National Statistics (ONS) revealed 28% of those aged between 50 and state pension age were out of work – compared with only 20% of those aged under 50.

Why? One of the biggest factors is the rife ageism that permeates practically every industry in the UK, that anyone over 50 who’s been forced to look for employment will testify to with a weary nod. The ONS estimates those who lose their job aged 50 or over have only a 10% chance of being re-employed.

Deciding to use their money from redundancies to fund ta company, over the course of two years the payout had trickled in its entirety into the business. But it was worth the investment – and they often don’t have to rely on the ineffective banks at the moment.

New challenge

At a fundamental level, sometimes people just want to do something different in their later years.

It’s interesting that recent YouGov and Standard Life research found the average age at which people feel totally confident in their working skills is 37, while the more elusive sense of fulfilment peaks at 50. Perhaps this climax of achievement and sense of ability leads to a need for a new direction, a new challenge, once a person passes the half-century mark.

You’re in good company if your over 50 and considering starting a business.

More than four out of 10 new businesses in the UK are started by people over 50, according to the Office for National Statistics. And it’s a growing trend. A recent report from Barclays highlighted that over 55s are now 63% more likely to start businesses than 10 years ago.

And this rise in business owners doesn’t just apply to founders in their 50s – the number of self-employed people aged 65 and over has more than doubled in the UK in the past five years.

While there’s never a ‘right time’ to pursue a business idea, an increasing number of people in their 50s and over – dubbed ‘olderpreneurs’ – are shifting to entrepreneurship. But why?

For starters, budding business owners in their 50s are capitalising on the government pension freedoms – first introduced back in 2015 – and are opting to take their tax free cash lump-sum to “create wealth” by using their pensions to start a business.

However, it’s not just pension-led funding which is boosting the numbers of  the UK’s older entrepreneurs.

Low-interest loans and mentoring, provided by the likes of , is playing an integral part in funding and supporting the growth of founders in their 50s with over 5,700 loans having been supplied to founders aged 50 and over by the organisation to date.

Supported by research from PRIME that those who start a business in their 50s are 42% more likely to be successful than their younger counterparts, we want to shake off the notion that starting a business in middle-age isn’t a good idea. On the contrary, older entrepreneurs have the advantage of being able to tap into wealth of experience and knowledge which they can put to use in a start-up venture.

To break down stereotypes, we’ve highlighted five inspiring businesses founded by entrepreneurs aged 50 and over, who each received a Start Up Loan to make their business dreams a reality.

Operating in industries ranging from domestic care to street food.

After every downturn there is alway a upturn because people really work hard along with banks, investors and government to make it work.

Does Rice Water help grow your hair quicker?

Do you know how to cook rice? First you soak or wash it in water and then strain it? Well, the next time, do not throw the water away because it works wonders on your hair.

Rice water is the starchy water left over after rice is cooked or left to soak. It is thought to make the hair smooth and shiny, as well as help it grow faster.

Firstly all hair has a growth cycle, so let’s explore that firstArticle by: Diane ShaweAnagen Phase – Growth Phase
Approximately 85% of all hairs are in the growing phase at any one time. The Anagen phase or growth phase can vary from two to six years. Hair grows approximately 10cm per year and any individual hair is unlikely to grow more than one meter long.Catagen Phase – Transitional Phase
At the end of the Anagen phase the hairs enters into a Catagen phase which lasts about one or two weeks, during the Catagen phase the hair follicle shrinks to about 1/6 of the normal length. The lower part is destroyed and the dermal papilla breaks away to rest below.Telogen Phase – resting phase
The resting phase follows the Catagen phase and normally lasts about 5-6 weeks. During this time the hair does not grow but stays attached to the follicle while the dermal papilla stays in a resting phase below.Approximately 10-15 percent of all hairs are in this phase at any one time.At the end of the Telogen phase the hair follicle re-enters the Anagen phase. The dermal papilla and the base of the follicle join together again and a new hair begins to form. If the old hair has not already been shed the new hair pushes the old one out and the growth cycle starts all over again. So rice water is claimed to be good for all growth cycles. What are the Benefits of Rice Water for Hair and Skin?Rice water is no ordinary remedy. Its benefits are backed by modern science. According to a study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Chemists, when you apply rice water to your hair, it can reduce friction between the hair strands as well as improve hair elasticity. It means combing and detangling will be so much easier, and hair breakage a thing of the past. The amino acids present in rice water, in particular, help in the regeneration of hair and aid faster growth of your hair. Also, rice water contains vitamins B, C, and E, which further help in hair growth.Another amazing thing about rice water is that it has inositol, a carbohydrate, which repairs damaged hair. Specialised imaging technique shows that inositol stays inside the hair even after rinsing, offering continuing hair protection. These are some of the reasons why rice water is hailed as a super aid to hair growth. The best way to use rice water to grow hair is to rinse your hair with it after a wash.
